Classes and Lessons: A Yoga class with Ekabhumi is generally playful, informative, challenging, grounded in tradition, and ultimately relaxing.  It is a tremendous honor to be a vehicle for teachings  that have been handed down for thousands of years from enlightened masters.  Whether in a gym, a Yoga Studio, a Youth Yoga class, or a private session, I am mindful of the ultimate goal of practice: full realization of one's essence nature.

After graduating of Yoga Mandala’s teacher training and a six-month internship with David Moreno, I began teaching Yoga Asana 2005 and continue to this day. Several of my teachers are listed on the "Links" page. Since then, hundreds of hours have also been spent at the feet of teachers in study of Yogic philosophy, Jyotish, Ayurveda, Shamanism, and Sacred Art.

My practice is informed by lessons from many other sources, including martial arts, dance, and Nature itself. I consider the the Ocean to be my first great teacher; all those years spent surfing and sailing taught me how to move in harmony with powerful forces. The Goddess is my constant inspiration, and I am a daily practitioner.

I began teaching children's Yoga at the behest of my own teacher. Years later, Hanuman Youth Yoga incorporates aspects of all eight limbs of Yogic practice, as well as martial arts and dance, in an innovative program that delights kids and encourages home study. To me, the human body is a divine vehicle for loving awareness. It is an apparent confluence of energy and consciousness, a phenomenon in time. The purpose of physical Asana practice is to clarify, harmonize and stabilize this phenomenal manifestation of body, speech and mind. From this state of basic sanity, one may mindfully choose a Dharmic path for the benefit of all beings. Radiant health is a pleasant side-effect of Yogic practice, while the goal is spontaneously appropriate action in a state of blissful awareness.
